Bonded Surfaces | M Jaques Groundworks and Surfacing

One option you have for surfacing is a bonded surface. Suitable for both domestic and commercial applications, including paths, driveways, or simply open areas around which other landscaping features will be placed, bonded surfaces come in two different formats: resin bound and resin bonded. While the two look somewhat similar, they have different characteristics which are important to consider before choosing one or the other.

M Jaques Groundworks and Surfacing makes over 50 years of accumulative experience available to domestic and commercial clients in need of high quality surfacing, at competitive prices. Our stringent approach to proper on-site safety and project management ensures you’ll get a finished surface on time, within budget. Resin Bound vs Resin Bonded
Resin Bound – Consisting of dry aggregates mixed with resin, this surface can be placed over pre-existing concrete and tarmac. It results in a smooth, durable and level finish. A big advantage this form of surface has over resin bonded surfaces, is that it’s permeable and porous, allowing water to freely soak away.
Resin Bonded – These surfaces consist of a layer of resin, with aggregate then spread across the top. This creates a finish which isn’t permeable, but has a different feel and look underfoot; some gravel will stick to the resin, while some remains loose. This makes it more like a traditional gravel drive in appearance, which some clients prefer.
